Get Involved in 2011 !

Volunteers Needed/ Ideas Welcome

This message was put up a year ago but still holds true. All Avon Valley members are both entitled to, and invited to, take an interest in the functioning of our Club. You can volunteer to become a member of any Committee convened by the Board of Directors, or volunteer to assist in various other ways as may be needed from time to time (tournaments/ other events/ projects). And even without becoming a volunteer, if you see something that could or should be done to improve the Club or the way things are done, please let us know!

If you are interested, want more information or have any suggestions to offer, please send an e-mail to kirkstephen@eastlink.ca or you can call Kirk at 902-798-4360. Or contact any Director by leaving a message by phone c/o the office at(902)798-4654, or by e-mail at avgcc@win.eastlink.ca. And certainly neither last nor leat- quite the opposite in fact, given this is mentioned last you'll more likely remember it- talk to Brad. You know where to find him...

Brad Corkum, our General Manager

Brad is a graduate of Dalhousie University with a major in Economics. He also attended and graduated with honours from West Kings District High School. Brad comes to Avon Valley directly from the position of Golf Course Manager at Eden Golf and Country Club. He is a Certified Teaching Professional and has completed courses through the Canadian Golf Management Institute. Brad has over 15 years of managerial and business experience.

In addition to Eden he has served as Course Manager of Berwick Heights as well as being on the Boards of Greenwood, Paragon and Ken-Wo golf courses. He has held membership at Oakfield and Eagle Crest and with all this, has a well-rounded knowledge of our extended golf environment.

Brad has extensive teaching experience including co-ordinating and marketing very successful junior programs and clinics. Not a stranger to the area, Brad has enjoyed meeting and working to satisfy the golfing requirements of all our members and guests- and he looks forward to continuing to improve the viability and service capacity of the Club in this and coming seasons.

If you haven't done so, please stop by the Pro Shop and get to know Brad.
